Despite initial excitement about the project, Superman Lives faced a number of setbacks and was never completed, leaving fans to wonder what Cage’s portrayal of the Man of Steel might have been like. In the late 1990s, Cage was set to play the Man of Steel in a film called Superman Lives, which was to be directed by Tim Burton who had, of course, found success directing and adapting Batman with Michael Keaton in the role.
